Keep Moving Forward

I want to end this calendar on an inspirational note.

I know it has been difficult to revisit what once was and what no longer remains, but I hope this calendar has set a spark in you. The next generation is counting on us. We have to keep moving our community forward. If we don't, we'll let others erase our rich history and conquer our culture, pride, and Spirit.

In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: "We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality ... We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity ... No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until 'justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.'"
